Some people don't like the term "cure" when it come to Type 2 diabetes....but I know that since switching to a vegan a/k/a plant based diet, my dad is no longer type 2 diabetic. He had been diagnosed 14 years ago and was up to 4 insulin shots a day (and I think it was more, but he didn't want to admit it to us) and now northing. No medications. Also, no more high blood pressure meds, no more high cholesterol meds etc. This was all within weeks of starting the plant based diet lifestyle over 2 years ago.
I believe 100% in the healing power of food. I've seen it in action time and time again, there's no denying it. It's wonderfully beautiful in its simplicity. And the postive impact it has in not only humans, but our animal friends and the environment....it's the obvious choice for me and my family.
I love this quote from the article:
“Diabetes is difficult,” says Barnard. “Yes, people may think eating a vegan diet sounds hard–but ending up on dialysis and going blind is what is hard.”
