I've been busy studying for my RN exam on Wednesday. And then I start my graduate job as a Graduate Nurse in the ER on Thursday! I would love to travel to Ireland, Scotland, England, Greece, Belgium, Italy, and Australia. re: QOTW for October 9emoticon: message #: 1401.3 in response to 1401.2 from: to: date: 10/13/2006 7:10 am replies: 5 How was work? :) If you have a yen to travel, you definitely should do it. My husband has wanderlust and I don't, but that doesn't stop us from exploring different parts of the US and he's got some foreign countries on his must-see list. I hope your exam went well! The exam was tough...hoping I passed. Work was just orientation so far. I start officially next week. I'm excited but scared and happy to get some money coming in (I've spent too much lately).
I would love to travel. I'm thinking soon, however I have student loans to pay off. :(
In my opinion (and I had about $25,000 in student loans by the time I was done), the student loans will always be there (or at least for 10 years!). You don't have to go nuts spending money, but if you took one trip a year and did a good job of it, you could both travel and put a good dent in your loans. We didn't go to Hawaii until well after our loans were paid off, but there are cheaper trips to be had to common vacation destinations (places in Mexico) at the right time of year, or maybe only for 3-4 days. We also took a number of National Park vacations and did a bit of backpacking (the first trip is just as expensive as a regular vacation with all of the equipment, but the rest are much less). We've traveled since we met, and the loans didn't get paid off for several years after that. ;)
Good luck at work this week!
