So I am dating someone new and we decided to have sex. I thought, from my last experience (in January), that if I was wet enough, I wouldn't have any pain. Boy was I wrong! I remember when I first got VVS, there was alot of pain. Then the symptoms went down to only pain on initial entry and no futher. This time it's back to pain initially and during. I did find that if we changed positions to where I was on top, I was okay. I have no idea why I'm getting this pain again. Maybe I'm too dry? Maybe he's too wide? Maybe it's food related? I think I may have to go back to using Xylocaine and maybe even my Clobetasol cream. *sighs* And having to explain this condition to someone is difficult (as I'm sure you all know). With my ex, it was easy because I had just been diagnosed, so we learned about it together. This is a different case. However, he seems accepting and willing to learn and help me out. Lets hope Astroglide and Xylocaine do the trick, cause saying "ow ow ow" during sex is a mood breaker.

I'm sorry it didn't go well!  I hope your new friend is understanding and compassionate, it's hard enough to deal with it yourself.  It may not be the lubrication, if that doesn't seem to make a big difference, I'd wonder if it could be a state of tension in the pelvic floor muscles.  Can you remember how things went last time that made things get better over time?  Would a journal help?

I'm kind of at a loss, since we're all different, but i hope you can figure out the best solution for your situation.  Let us know if we can help, okay?  Even if it's just to gripe. ;)

Take care!!

Hey Judie,

Thanks for letting me gripe. It is a little sore on entry still, but you were right about tension in the muscles. Things seem to be going better now. I haven't used Xylocaine yet, but keep it around just in case.

Did you have your surgery?? If so, how did it go?

I did!  I had my right bunion corrected and my second toe shortened 11 days ago.  I can't believe it's been that long already.  It really wasn't as painful as I thought, this week I'd classify it as more uncomfortable than painful and having the toe shortened was actually worse than having the bunion corrected.  I'm walking, I have been more and more since I walked out of surgery.  I have crutches for when I need to get around quickly, I've been off the pain meds since about day 5-6, but I'm still icing every day in the afternoons especially since I went back to work.  The other foot is probably going to be another 2 weeks, once the right foot can go in an athletic shoe, we can cut up the left. ;)

I'm glad things are getting better for you!  I'm looking for a relapse, as I screwed up and had to take Plan B yesterday.  Since Plan B is a huge dose of levonorgestrel, which is what caused all this to start with, I'm expecting the next several days to get interesting.

Take care!
