I was in the mood for a light mystery, and there, on the "new books" rack at my public library was "Sew Deadly", by Elizabeth Lynn Casey, a new author. She's written a light story, a nice read for a relaxing weekend. She makes me want to spend an afternoon on a porch with the ladies of the Southern Sewing Circle. A red herring or two, but all in all, a good read, nothing too serious.

Forgot to add, she includes sewing tips and an easy text pattern for a throw pillow, at the end of the book. I've seen a lot of books, lately, that include little extras, like recipes, sewing or knitting pattern.

Jan

Hi Jan

Sounds like a good book. Sometimes a light read is just what is needed. Seems I have been reading a lot of old paperbacks  that I find at Goodwill this summer. Easy reading.  I have seen that a lot of the new books have that as well a recipie in them or some other little tibit that is extra.

Love ya

I have been very slow at reading this summer.. but I did pick up a fairly good book on THursday call Black Hills by Nora Roberts it is a mystery / romance.  it is set in the Black Hills and this woman who owns a refuge for  wild animals runs into problems with a murderer.

I enjoy Nora Roberts' writing and this one is pretty darn good.

I miss reading but in the summer seems I get so little read.

hugs,
