This month I turned 60! A number that still has not computed in this brain. 60's Old! As a kid people of this age were ancient yet here I am. Of all my birthdays this was the hardest. Up to my injury last June I never felt my age. Rushing across a wet floor carrying a large box is not recomended. I went down hard! Months later my knees are mostly healed but I still have trouble sitting in kiddie chairs where most of my life has been spent. Floor time with the kids has been limited as well and I HATE IT!!! My life has bee4=n so impacted by this one stupid injury I could scream!
Enough about me and on to my kids:)
Today we had our Halloween Parade and party and the kids partied all day! A lot of parents came early and had to wait until their kids were ready to leave:)Some waited almost an hour!Kids have the best outlook on life. They live in the present Not worring about the future or past:) Ya got to love kids!
Hugs, Bernie

I was right behind you Bern.....turning 60 one week ago!  It does sound so much older than I feel!!

I had my annual physical yesterday and I am really healthy with the exception of slightly elevated cholesterol which medication seems to control.  So, I am thankful for that and glad that I still basically do everything I want to do....but I agree.......the "mental" part...the thinking about this birthday has been a lot harder than 50!!

Sorry to hear that your injury is still impacting your activities.  Hope you will feel back to normal soon!  When my mother went through all those falls, the doctor told me that as we age (particularly women) our sense of balance changes as well as our perception of where we step etc. and that we ALL should be very careful.  I've thought a lot about that and try to think ahead as I scurry around.  I sure don't want to experience what my mother has in the last couple of years!

HI Bernie

I hear you about turning 60. It will be my turn in Jan of next year. I was not fond of 50 but it was ok however as you said people are old at 60 aren't they??? Well now that I am almost there I would say I hope not!! Turning 60 is defniately better than not turning 60.

I bet the kids had a ball at the party. I am sorry about your fall. Sure takes me longer now to heal up and begin to feel human again when something like that happens.

Take care

Love ya

Happy Birthday!  I'll be joining the club next June.  I recall last year spraining my ankle and the dr. telling me to put it up and don't put much weight on it ... HILARIOUS .... tell 2 very large dogs to wait for their walk till I heal!!.(actually about a year).. needless to say I didn't listen.

Well, humor helps some.. I know what you mean about the kids. I remember giving a watercolor workshop to 3rd graders for Water Appreciation Day. They all did their interpetation of Monet's Water Lilies and the classical music I had playing received some ,uh, "unappreciative comments "from a couple of little boys. Priceless..They did however all write  thank you notes to me .   Rose
