The World Series is over and congratualtions to NY. Of course being from Philly am sorry we didn't win but we did last year so I'm content. One daycare dad is from North Jersey and a NY fan and for Halloween his dd came dressed as a NY cheerleader:) Actually I'm more of a hockey fan so lets Go Flyers! Another of the daycare dads is from Montreal and had his son wear a Montreal Canadien sweatshirt just to tease me. I can't win:)
Back in August Mac was scheduled for surgery to eliviate a kidney blockage. We went through all the pre-op tests, surgery was scheduled, postponed, recheduled, postponed. he was given medication and three weeks later told to stop taking it immediatley. I was ready to scream! Seems his physical condition is not conducive to having this type surgery so we are in a holding pattern. If the drs are waiting for his health to improve...good luck...and I told them so!
As for me I'm doing well. Other than slightly painful knees am good for another hundred miles. the daycare did have a spat of respiratory colds right before Halloween but seem fine now. With all the bleaching, hand washing/sanitizing and spraying of Lysol how any germ can survive is beyond me. A cold was trying to attack me but I upped my intake of Vitamin C and that took care of it quickly. I have also started spraying saline solution up my nostrils daily...nothing will survive to invade your body in a saline environment. Gargling with salt water will protect your throat as well.
Wishing you all a happy week and remember to keep smiling:)
Hugs, Bernie

I've been a firm believer in saline spray for years!!  I spray every night....but its also GREAT to do if you are traveling by air!  Sounds like a fun  Halloween at your place!

Hi Bernie

I am sorry to hear that your dh is not able to have the surgery they wanted to do.  I am glad other than sore knees you are feeling good. I use saline in my nose as well. As Sooze said very good idea if you are flying use it cuts down on those germs.

As for turning 60 I am glad you realize is is nothing really but a number. I still am not happy about that birthday coming up but hey you gotta do what you gotta do. LOL. I am sure it will not be so bad. It is just the sound of that number that really sounds old to me.

Good to see you here posting

Love

I am sorry to hear you both must wait for the surgery.  All those preventative measures are great. I do the nasal salt thing when I start to feel a cold coming on.  Glad you enjoyed the game anyway and are feeling well.

Happy Fall to everyone of you.  My kitchen smells of cinnamon and apples this time of year.                                   Rose

p.s. I do make alot of apple pies plus apple crisp (baked apples) if there's a time factor. Enjoy.

Happy November to you also Bernie. If they feel Mac isn't a good candidate for this surgery what are their plans to help him?

Yes, using saline is the best way to avoid viruses. Sounds as if you are doing all you can in daycare to keep ahead of the bugs. Hugs!
