Continuing the tour, mostly so anyone thinking about doing one knows what it entails.
Day 4 -
Cruise Antelope Canyon on Lake Powell. All I can say is wow. Each room at the resort had patio with stucco wall and we were all on one side. It wound up being a traveling cocktail party, as some of the people had picked up wine at one of the stops.
Day 5 -
Enter Navajo Indian Nation and take jeep tour of Monument Valley. This is were so many Western classics were filmed.
Day 6 -
Ride to Bryce Canyon Park fantastic "hoodoos" rock formations. Overnight in local inn, dinner at local eatery - great fresh fish.
Day 7 -
Depart to Zion Natl. Park. Stay in cabin on the grounds. Lots of time for exploring and people watching. This is where the deer were grazing right by the front door.
Day 8 -
Ride from Zion to Las Vegas. Tour ended at airport there. Most of us were staying in LV for at least one night. We picked a hotel/casino 3 blocks off the "strip" and it was terrific. Not so for the strip - been there, done that.
Gal pal & I had originally planned to rent a car & drive from LV to Phoenix for flight home. Saw the traffic, heard horror tales of accidents on the roads involving hungover drivers, decided to catch a plane to Phoenix. Cost a bit, but there are some things you pay for and we would have been driving for 6 hours on roads we weren't sure of. Worst part would have been trying to get in & out of the airports.
