Did you/will you get a flu shot?
Yes, the entire family had a flu shot
Just the adults had one this year
Only the children had flu shots
No, we don't get flu shots in our family (why?)

If a half-dose flu shot were available to you at a reduced cost, would you take it?

Half-dose flu shots are effective in adults, especially in women and those younger than 50, and offer a viable way to stretch supplies during vaccine shortages, a government study found.

The strategy also might be an option during hard economic times since lower doses likely would mean cheaper shots, said Vanderbilt University vaccine expert Dr. Kathryn Edwards, who wasn't involved in the study. And the lower dosage could open doors to vaccinating people in poor countries where flu shots are little used, she said.

I had to vote "just the adults" because we don't have any children, but DH and I have both had our flu shot. I get one every year since the terrible flu of 1993, we were sick for six weeks. Never again, I swore, would I let that happen if I could avoid it. DH isn't as vigilant, or at least he hasn't been until the last two or three years, but he had a bad bout with it one winter when he didn't bother getting the shot, so it is much easier to convince him now.

Out of curiousity, do you know the average price of a flu shot there? It isn't very much here, less than 8 euros, so probably around 10-12 dollars, depending on the exchange rate. However, as the health department likes to point out, the cost of lost time and palliative remedies that are required when one does get the flu cost far more than the shot. Here, at least.

I couldn't vote, because there wasn't an other option.  Both of my younger kids and I have had flu shots, but DH and my older DS have refused it.
