Thankyou roundthewaygirl. People need all the prayers and encouragement they can get. It is nice having someone like you on this board. It is a good idea to pray first before going on an interview. Take care. MaryAnne

Thanks,

I have to admit that it is an everyday struggle. Sometimes it is difficult. There is so much uncertainty. But everyone always says how strong I am, how I always come out on top, how Blessed I am. But it still doesn't take away the pain. I still have not really broken down and cried and on July 30th it will be 3 months. A tear may form, one may even trickle, but that is all of the emotion that I can get except what goes on in my head.

As the song goes, "The waiting is the hardest part". I try to stay upbeat for my 2 sons, for my mother, for all those who look up to me as a source of inspiration. But, it is tough being everyone's rock.

Sometimes, I just want to shut myself down completely and block all emotions...but I come back to my senses, will and determination and hold on to my faith in GOD and just keep going.

I don't know what I would do if I did not believe so strongly in the LORD. I could not make it.

Selenna

Hi Selenna, What a pretty name you have. I do understand how you feel and although I have work it is rather uncertain of how things will go. They already posted a message that there would be no wage increases this year. They are doing that in order to help keep us all working. At one point there was a write up in the paper that the hospital could close but thank God it didn't. It is my first year there and so I am starting over and my wages are not going to increase this whole year.

I often do not know how all the bills are going to get paid. I sit there with piles of paper work. It is rather scary at times to see all that is going out.

One thing I did was start doing away with the credit cards except one for emergencies. That has helped.

I too get discouraged and then try to think of how God has brought me through 64 ys of life and isn't going to let me down now. I had to stop buying gifts for the grandchildren as I have 16 of them and 2 more enroute. lol.

My faith sometimes wavers. I confess that it is hard with this economy the way it is can be rather scary. My COBRA ran out from my previous job and I had to purchase health and dental coverage which isn't cheap at my age but Medicare should help when I turn 65.

I have to laugh when I think I am too old for a lot of things but too young for full retirement and Medicare. But I am neither too young or too old to have faith in a God that has never let me down  and I have an abundance of energy that none of the younger employees have and that I am greatful for because believe me I have to work. My husband is 70 and he works full full time.

I want to cry sometimes. And I do. I then think of what I have, not what I don't have. What you and I have money cannot buy.

I am so glad you are hanging onto your faith. I can see why others look to you for strength. Your faith will carry you through believe me. Times are hard but  we will see it through. Take care. MaryAnne

Good morning,

My prayers are with you as well. I have found that many of my older employees are like yourself. They have far more energy and motivation that many of the younger employees.

I have often thought that I too will have to work well past retirement age. I may not even be able to afford retirement. Everything just gets more expensive, salaries don't keep up with the cost of living and the government places such a heavy tax burden on us.

I know what it is like worrying about how bills will be paid even when I was employed full time. But somehow the LORD made a way. I kept a diary during my roughest times about 5 years ago. It was very dark for me. I was carried through that and I know that HE will come through again. But, the waiting is very difficult.

Have a blessed day.
