Hello, everyone.

I am studying for my Master degree in Accounting. I am wondering how important GPA is when looking for the first accounting-related job? I heard it must be at least 3.5 for big accounting companies.

so if GPA is really such important, it is better to choose less courses each semester to get higher GPA than choose more courses in risk of getting lower GPA?

what do u guys think? Thanks!

I think you should call a couple of CPAs at accounting firms and ask them for 15 minutes of their time.  Offer to meet for coffee.  Might be good for networking.  Good luck.

Look up "Accounting Firms" in your local phone book and call a few.  That's the only way to get to know them.  Tell the receptionist or wohoever answers that you're a student and need a bit of advice from a CPA.  Some might be busy but eventually someone will talk to you.  Or, look at local accounting firm websites and ge email addresses and contact them that way.  You have to do this type of legwork yourself; people on message boards can't do it for you.
