I was just browsing and saw your dresser, it is very lovely. I was thinking of doing one very much like it. I love making things look new or take old things and make different things with it. Last year I found 2 old dining room chairs in the back yard of the house we rented. Metal with lime green and yellow seats,50's I believe. I wanted a bench for my front porch. I removed the seats, sanded and painted the chairs white. My husband brought a piece of plywood from the job and 1"x2" slats. I screwed this together and covered the wood with sponge, batting and an old sheet with big beautiful hot pink roses that I cut to size and stapled to the wood. I then placed the seat on the 2 chairs and screwed this together. I later went to a garage sale and found a rattan head board for $5 and screwed this to the back. Everyone in the neighbor hood wanted me to make them one. I love doing thing like that.

Welcome kajunwoman! So glad you joined in with us.

I like that dresser too. It came from a Country Living article and I love the green color. I was thinking of doing something like it for my kitchen to store towels, pot holders and place mats in and stencil apples on the front..

What a neat idea for a bench you had, sounds adorable. Need is the mother of creation. Have any photos of it to share with us?

I found a old maple rocking chair in the dumpster once and cut out the seat for a flower pot of pretty flowers, then I placed it in front of my house. I didn't paint it as I wanted that weathered look. Everyone that went by just loved it. I'll see if I can find a few photos to attach on the bottom to share with everyone.

Hi Honeygirl, I plan on doing the same thing with a dresser, but I want to paint it a cream color and stencil some little flowers & ribbons on the drawers. I adore your rocking chair. It is beautiful. I dont have pictures of my bench yet because I have to redo it, loaned it to my sister in law and she let her cats spray the seat so it is smelly and faded because she left it in the rain. I also dont have my computer with me. I use the one in the office when I have time. As soon as I fix it and get my computer I will send a picture. Have to go the boss is here. Have a blessed day!!

Well, thanks kajun,

LOL, I no longer have the rocker, when we moved we didn't have room for it in the truck so it had to go back into the dumpster. :-( I had to leave many garden plants and things behind for lack of room and it's just as well since they would freeze here in the winter.

The dresser sounds like it will be real nice. Will you use it in your bedroom or bath?

I want hubby to build me a potting bench for outside in the spring, I hate bending over. Of course after I can get him to put up my pretty arbor that has a bench, LOL. We have only been here a year but other things had a way of taking preference. I have way tooooo many things.

So glad you can join us from work and when you get your puter fixed feel free to join us full time.

You have a wonderful day as well!
