Happy Friday.  It's time for the March Roll Call.    Where you live, did March come in like a Lamb, or come in like a Lion?

Stop in and let me know that you are here.  Whether you are normally a lurker or come in here and ask a question or just to chat.  What zone are you in?  do you garden?  vegetable, flower or both?  You can stop by as often as you like and say Hello here.  This thread goes all month long.

It came in like a lamb! Today was the warmest hit sixty but the first two days forty five or so. I'm getting ready to hang my plastic Easter eggs in the bushes and trees, I make a hole with the ice pick and inset ribbon to make a loop and knot, then glue shut and hand them. I have several large ones that I also make a hole in them and poke a stake into the egg, and then in the ground in clusters and sizes, so they don't blow away.

Greta here in NC (zone 7). March came in like a lamb I think. We had flooding rains (2inches) on March 1st but it wasn't very cold. I'm a big time lurker but I love plants so I'm going to try to post more and learn about them from y'all. I have had a veggie garden every year and have rock wall gardens around the yard. We've moved a house and are renovating it on 6 acres on a hill. Most of the 6 acres is under power lines but the yard area is sort of wooded. I'm excited about planning new gardens and already have ideas that I hope you all can help me out with.

Hi Greta,
Wow moving a house, what an undertaking!!!   Do you have a big garden?   Do you freeze and/or can your veggies for the winter?    I freeze most of mine.  I try to get in some winter squashes that I can just store for the winter.

Greta do you work outside of the home or stay at home?  I wish I could stay at home, but my dh does not work during the summer, so we need my job.   The bad part is he says gardening stresses him out.  I think he says that because he does not want to help in any way.  He says he loves landscaping, but all I see him doing all summer is raking stuff.   Even the gravel out in the drive.  Go figure........Smile!
If you have any questions just ask.  I may not get back to you right away because of my job.  sometimes I'm just too tired to turn on my computer, but be patient.  I will get back to you.
Smile!

Thanks Linda. Happy St. Paddy's day to you too!

I love to garden. Each year we plant about 15 tomatoes, 6 green peppers and a few other veggies in raised beds. I don't know if we'll get a chance to have a garden at our new (old) house this year or not but if not, I know I'll put a few tomatoes in a container anyhow. There's nothing like fresh veggies in the summer. My Mom taught me how to can veggies and fruit so I put lots of my tomatoes up every year. Nothing like a can of garden tomatoes in the middle of winter is there?! I'm lucky since my dh has a little old tractor that he likes to use and he spends time turning over the garden in the spring. He's pretty good about weeding too. Of course I am out there all the time - sometimes just sitting in the shade watching the birds and listening to the crickets but I love to be outside. Now, if I could only teach the dogs to bring me my garden gloves and tools and maybe a glass of iced tea, I'd have it made:)

I work outside of the home too. I don't think it takes up as much of my time as your job does. I hope you get a chance to relax sometime.

Greta
