Hello all,

First let me say that I have the BLACKEST thumb around. The only flower/plant I have in my yard is the back hedge which is honeysuckle vines. When we first moved here - the honeysuckle smelled wonderful! At night we would open the windows and we could smell the honeysuckle. It was so enjoyable! But the past few years there has been very little fragrance from the vines. The little white and yellow flowers still appear. We don't do really anything to maintain them except cut them back (only at the bottom of the vine) when they get so long that they creep into the pool area. Should I be doing something to them in order for them to maintain the fragrance?

thanks so much for any help you can give me!

Right off hand, I haven't the faintest idea.   Have no idea why.  I'll look it up in some of my plant books and see if I can find anything.

I live in the country and would love to have some honeysuckle in my yard. Problem is, i have no idea how to get it there or where, even if, i can buy it! Please let me know! I love honeysuckle!
Thanks so much.

Well, I looked in all the books that I had around here.  I could not find anything about the honeysuckle not smelling anymore when it blooms.

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the weather?  Has the weather been different around there the last couple years?  Hotter, colder, wetter, drier?

You can probably get some from some plant catalogs.  I would love to have some too.  In fact where I work.....I  found a plant that is in a hanging basket and it had a few flowers on it.  Smelled good too.  Anyways, I took a small cutting and wrapped  very wet paper towels around it and took it home.  I had it in water for a week, then I plante it.  I have no idea if it will root or not, but as of today it is still alive.  I just have to remember to keep watering it and not let it dry out.

If you need some names for some catalogs let me know.  Or you can do a search for them.
