Last year we replaced an old cement slab porch with a much more attractive wooden stoop with a huge garden box.needless to say I was happy to be rid of the awful monostrosity!I had no idea the biggest pleasure would come from the dirt from the local nursery!!!So far there is:A Japanese red maple ,an unusal type of angels trumpet,a wisteria,a smoke bush and various daises!Getting back to the angels trumpet, does anyone know of a type with smaller flowers that are crisp white on outside and purple in center ???????

Hi there.  Welcome.  The only Angels trumpet that comes to me is the Datura or moon flower.  Is that what you have?   I don't think they come in different sizes or colors.

The Datura Angel's Trumpet, 'Datura meteloides', has fragrant and showy flowers that open late in the day to enhance the evening garden. If your time only allows you to enjoy an evening garden, then the Datua is the plant. The pale blooms will glow well into the twilight and their scent is heavenly. The flowers are 6 inches long, trumpet-shaped and white in color, tinged with lilac. Take advantage of the heavenly fragrance by planting the Datura close to a window. Note: All parts of this plant are poisonous.

But then again it could also be something else with the same name that I can't think of what it could be.  Sorry I'm not much help to you.

Hi!Glad to be here !I know Moon Flowers are known for their scent, these do not smell very good but,are very pretty. The 'bush' gets to be the size of our garage door!If a piece breaks it smells comparable to sumayc .Flowers are about 6 inches long but the plant dose not resemble any varities Grandma and I have ever seen![Grandma has been my inspiration since I was 4 & discovered I LOVE playing the dirt!]Also leaves are more jagged on the edge ! Who knows it'll always have a place here, considering it reseeds well! The seed pods are very spiny, they actually will draw blood !!O'well Thanks for your help!

I wish I could see a picture of it.  Then I may be able to see what it is.

did you read the notice up top about this board closing?  I'm really sad about that.  I don't like loosing this board, but what can I do?

If you like baking you could visit me on The Sweet Life or the Exotic Cuisines.  Those are the two boards that I lead.  There is another gardening board that is listed in the header.  There already is a CL there, so I can not be one there.  But feel free to visit my boards and we can discuss any thing you want, including anything gardening.
Smile!
