Fifty & Up Friends

This "New Member Sign-in" folder is designed just to let the rest of us know that you have arrived and to give you a place in which to introduce yourselves.  You are invited to join us in any of the other folders for future posting!   Just jump into any conversation that strikes your fancy, or begin one of your own.  The bulk of conversation takes place in the "Ladybug Buzz" folder!

To find your previous post and the responses to it might, at least at first, be easiest if you take advantage of the "Email Alerts" feature that is available to all members.  This will notify you, through the email address you used at registration, of responses to your posts.  If you would like to use this feature ~
1.  click on 'board settings' in the "Welcome" line near the top of our front page
2.  under the paragraph titled 'Email Notification' click in the little opt in box
It can be un-selected later if you wish to do so.
While you are there, you  might want to set the number of posts you wish to have displayed at one time to 20....saves a lot of paging!

Please visit our website.  You may click on this link The Ladybug's Homepage or use the link near the top of the Fifty & Up Friends board.  There you'll find information about the Ladybugs, our Friendship Garden, protocol for the iVillage boards and chats, computer tips, fun stuff and a link to our very own "Ladybugs' Recipe Site" !   You will also find answers about how to create avatars, graphics and so forth - especially on the 'Board Hints & Tips' and 'Computer Tips' pages.

We want you to feel right at home, as quickly as possible.  The best way for us to get to know you (and you to get to know us) is for you to just begin posting!  Please do create a profile so we can get to know more about you and feel free to read our individual profiles (just click on our user-name to see them).  To create your own, simply log in and click on the words ‘your profile’ at the top of the page - then fill in the blanks!

Please don’t be afraid of making errors - we’d have all stopped posting by our second day if we’d let that scare us away!! If you have questions, please ask!

By the way....the last folder on the board - the "Explore iVillage" folder - is not intended as a correspondence folder.  It is there for the express purpose of allowing Community Leaders from other boards a place to post an invitation to join them.  Rarely do they return (except to post another invitation!) and thus they do not expect a response.
