Update and re-introducing myself

Since I have been away from here for awhile, I thought I would give an update of how the year has gone so far.

2009 stinks.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in January.  While undergoing an MRI as part of my testing, my DH received a call that his mother was very ill in Chicago.  He left almost immediately (nothing else happening for me for a few days) and got there just before she passed away.

I underwent my surgery and radiation treatment.  I had a complication of the Mammosite radiation treament and it took a lot longer than normal for me to heal.

By May, I was finally able to travel and we went to Kansas to have a memorial service and burial of MIL's ashes.  We also saw my mother while we were there.  It turned out to be the last time I saw her, she passed away in June.

I am not looking forward to settling my mother's estate with 2 sisters to whom I have barely spoken in the past year.  Ugh.

DH and I keep saying things have got to get better.

Welcome back, Jeanie, good to see you. After your description of 2009 so far, I can only sympathise - and tender the hope that it can only get better. We had a year like that in 2007 and I was so relieved to see the end of it. Bad times do pass eventually, and this is the greatest place to return to and spend some time. Hugs, Jenni, Western Australia, and I hope that your health continues to improve

Hi Jeanie, why do bad things all seem to happen at the same time?  I know exactly what you mean. I've had years like that, too.   Like your DH says, Things have got to get better! Hope you are feeling a lot better and can now come visit us in the Garden more often!!!

((Big Hugs)) and a ((welcome back)))

Hi Jeanie,

I read your profile and discovered we're neighbors as this garden goes. I live just "across the street" (or county line) in Fort Worth. I am sorry to read that this year has been so hard for you. I so hope that your health is improving.

Please feel welcomed back. You are posting in a place filled with caring and supportive women.

Melissa

It sounds as if you have definitely had a year worth putting behind you!  I'm sorry you and your DH  both lost your mothers this past year.  I pray you will continue to heal and that your hearts will mend soon too.

It is really good to see your face here in the garden again, Jeanie.  Please don't become a stranger again!
