Good morning   Yesterday was another day that I did not see daylight in town.  I really don't like those kind of days. I left town before the sun came up and was home well after dark.   On the way home I listened to my mom.  We talk mostly about her health.  She said her yard looked unkept.  I mentioned since the boys aren't keeping it up she should hire someone to do it. She said she usually doesn't do anything in the fall with it anyway I tried to get her to think about living inan apartment.  Every comment I would make she would twist around.  She said she needs a new bed, but doesn't want to spend the money on a bed.  I said she should be comfortable.  If she has to leave the farm she can give her bed to one of the grandkids.  Several of them have new homes and could surely use a new bed for a bedroom.  I would even take a new bed for one of my spare rooms.  That’s how the conversation went. Finally I got to the hills where the reception is poor and told her that I would talk to her again next week.   I was just beat by the time I got home.

I am thinking that today and tomorrow will be spent at the shop.  I hope that I can go for some good walks though because the weather is supposed to be so nice.  It was nice yesterday, but perhaps today will be even nicer.
I would be nice if I could get the year end done this weekend, but I think that is wishful thinking on my part.  DH wants to do something on the weekend but it's hard for me when I haven't been home and have shop stuff to take care of.  The computers really are in the need of some updates also.

I hope to have some time this weekend to work on recipes.  That is great fun doing that.  I'm looking for pictures.

DS has Guards this weekend. DDIL works.  We won't see much of them.

I'm looking forward to some nice weather.

It would be fun to watch some episodes of Gray's this weekend also.  I have lots of plans!  We'll see what happens.

This morning I saw a beautiful sunrise and I grabbed my trusty camera and headed out the door.  Here is some of what I saw.  The colors were just awesome this morning.  The temp was 31 out and there was a light frost over everything.

Donna I remember conversations like that with my MIL. She was always "afraid" to spend the money.  She wanted something to leave her kids, although we all were fine financially. Never could get her to enjoy spending her money on what she needed.  I found out she was not going to change and I quit making suggestions and instead, just ask her what she wanted to do about whatever she was complaining about at the moment. If she didn't answer I just changed the subject to something else. Needless to say, I was constantly changing the subject.  I guess it's just that generation.

I hate those days of going to work in the dark and coming home in the dark. Of course, I don't have that issue now, but remember the time when I did and really hated it.

At least it's sunny here and not raining. Not sure I could handle the rain.

Enjoy your day. Hope you get in some "me" time. Love the pics.

((hugs))

Loved the photos, Donna.
Just seeing that light frost made me shiver.

I'm hoping to watch some Gray's this weekend too.

I understand your frustration with your Mom.
They are the generation that lived through the Depression so they have a different mindset.  Very difficult for them (and for us).

It was a great day here!  The weather was lovely.  Temps in the mid 60's.  So much better than our October weather.  This will shorten winter so much. I got in a couple of walks and each walk and nicer and warmer conditions.  Fantastic!

Just about whatever I change the subject to, my mom finds something discouraging to talk about.  I had just had a very long day yesteday and listening to that really was a downer.  Some days I just can't handle it!

I'm glad it is the weekend and I don't have to head to the nursing home.  There is not much laundry to do for some reason.  I'll go down to the shop for a bit tonight and then I can take tomorrow evening off as well as Sunday.  Doesn't that sound good?  LOL

Beautiful pictures, Donna.

I can see how talking to your Mom would bring you down.  I do my best to avoid negative people, but when it's your Mother, you can't do that.  I am so sorry you have to listen to the complaining.  I am blessed in that my Mom rarely complains.  However, I have some aunts (and even a few "friends"....lol) who do NOTHING BUT complain.  It is very hard to be around them.  It brings ME down too much.  But like I said, in your situation.....with your Mother.....there's not a lot you can do about it except maybe change the subject, as SS suggested.

I hope you are enjoying a nice, quiet evening and have the same kind of Sunday...relaxing.

Sending hugs.....
