Fifty & Up Friends

Well after the second surgeon spoke to my cardio doc they thought that unless I pressed it or it was an emergency that surgery just wasn't the best for me. It really isn't like I WANTED surgery I am not that crazy, lol. Same with the hernia because of the place it is in it is not a patchable place (out patient) unless it HAS to be done it is put off.

They did want to put my legs in braces, LOL, I went up to have them fitted yesterday and when they measured last week and said both my legs were the same size I thought they probably couldn't read the tape.....and I was right....one for the right fit good and I could feel that kneed move and it didn't hurt to stand on it......and it felt gross moving around EEEUUUUUU..... But the other one was to small so they had to reorder. I only have one pair of pants that will go over them and then with the knobs on the sides it looks really wierd.....LOL... they are telling us here in the upper plains that we are going to have a warmer than usual winter which is good cause Janet will be in shorts....

Ok, most of you that were here remember my bout with the cardio doc before I had my heart surgery. The one that was rude, crude and just a regular AH?..... and then I got infection with my heart surgery. WELL.......the nurses told me to send a report about how that cardio doc treated me that day since they really can't do anything. And I did....I told them word for word what he said to me.....

Well, I found out that he, the cardio doc resigned, and the heart surgeon is now in SC ro NC I forgot which.......and the othe doc that I only saw once is in India for like 8 weeks then comes back here for 2. He has ailing parents.....why he don't bring them here I don't know....

But at least there is some justice.

If I get a good report in Omaha I will be a happy camper, I can't jump for joy but not having to ever go to Omaha again would be comforting to us....lol.....

Funny with all the pain I had this year, from the waist up I felt great, hardly any sinus, allergy I wanted to go, go, go but couldn't....lol.....

Supposed to be 75º today.......yeah...........

Now I am going to go and make a Thanksgiving tag.......I have worn out the Halloween one...lol

Janet it's hard having to deal with several health issues at once. So sorry the heart and the hernia have to be put off.  I would think they would be a priority. I had a friend that had problems due to a botched surgery with infection and all. She came close to dying and is still unable to work.

I hope the braces work. Now exactly why are you having to wear them?  I hope the weather is mild so you don't have to deal with long pants.

Glad there were consequences for the doc that treated you so rudely.  You know if he spoke that way to then he does it with others too.  Sometimes they forget they work for "us". 

I'm very happy that you're not facing any more surgery at this time.  Thank God!  How long will you wear the braces?  I guess I missed a post which explained "why" you're needing them.

OH my, if you can avoid the hernia surgery, I would! I had mine the 8th of October, I STILL have some discomfort from it. The  surgeon thought it would help me with my IBS since it had a sm bowell loop, and so did my Radiologist who is oveseeing my radiation treatments, but I still have the IBS. I don't know if you read my situation but the surgeon went in where he was sure the hernia was since the lump stuck out, it wasn't there! He closed me up, I was back in my room, he took me down to CAT scan and realized it was an inguninal hernia that pushed it's way up to look like a ventral hernia, anyhow, he opened me again same spot, so I have 2 mesh screen patches.

I hope your leg braces work out for you.

Well, I'm glad you won't be having surgery, Janet, but sorry you have to wear the leg braces.  I'm like the others, can't remember exactly what is wrong with your legs and why you needed the braces...??

Sure hope "they" are right about a warmer than normal winter up there.  I know last year was a real beast, wasn't it?

Glad you reported that doctor.  Geez, I have relatives in both the Carolinas, maybe I should warn them to stay away from him....;-)
