I had an interesting evening last night. A gf and I went to another friend's house along w/ 6 other friends (former co-workers of mine) to learn the "fine" art of couponing. Holy moley! Who knew! I've heard about and read about these ladies who are totally organized and know how to coupon to the point of getting virtually everything for free but I never saw it in action before. I went because Lord knows I need all the help I can get these days and thought I could pick up at least a few tips. I do use coupons but usually only for the items I normally use.

This was totally amazing. One of the gals that attended has already started doing it and has become "obsessed." She's getting her items at Walgreens, WalMart, Target, Jewel (groceries) for virtually free by using coupons already and she's only been doing this for a few weeks. The "key" was to know how to "stack" the coupons (using multiple coupons for items) and how to use the "catalinas"...which are the coupons that you get at the register along with your store receipt.

It was a really interesting evening and I just hope I can put to good use what I learned. It's going to take some organization (uh oh) and concentration. I'll let you know how it goes.

I bet the evening was very inspiring.
I'd love to go to something like that.

I "coupon", but quite sporatically.
I'll do great for a while, then get busy and fall back into my old ways.  Coupons are like money and who would throw that away???  I need to get back into the program.

I do use coupons on occasion, but certainly not seriously like those gals do.  That sounds most interesting.  I could see me doing stuff like that.  Right now I don't have the time.

Yesterday I just printed off my Dairy Queen coupon.  Buy one Blizzard get another free!  LOL

I usually cut out lots of coupons, but then I forget to use them!! I guess I should just put a few in my wallet and maybe I'd see them! It just might set off an alarm in my brain, but I doubt it! LOL  Like Deb said, it's just like having extra money and that's a good thing. SOOO guess I'll try to be better at couponing!! thanks for the reminder.

Like Shari, I cut lots of coupons for the stuff I use, even have a coupon organizer wallet that I invariably leave at home LOLOL! There is something about my "something for nothing" upbringing that keeps me from believing the whole "get it for free" coupon deal. If you do it please let me know.

Ever the skeptic...

Hugs,

Melissa
