I use Trillian too. And it was partly my fault after using it and downloading the updates or upgrades for a few years I didn't bother to read any of their Stickies on their forum because I trusted them. The first time I did get some program that I didn't want. Then when I went to post the problem on their forum they directed me to the Sticky about it at the top of the forum...... So I assumed that since they were so nice to give a free program that they wouln't do things like this. Sure enough the Sticky note said that in order to just get Trillian and nothing else......to uncheck.......I agree it SHOULD say IF you want this program check the box.
All that said it would have been nice if there would have been a note on the upgrade page in small letters even...... in order to keep Trillian free look for our benefactors programs yadda, yadda......
That would have made it more my fault I feel. But any program that will not go away when you want it even though I depend on The Weather Channel all the time on TV and on line their Weather Bug is a real bug... and to me it would be like Donald Trump building something like Motel sleeze or th Pope having an ad on a porn site....
To me to be all, if it is a husband or wife or a business......without trust, love don't seem as important. If I don't trust something I don't support it anymore.
Like 4shared told me when I was having trouble downloading from their site.......
"if you pay for our service everything will be perfect"......Yeah Sure.......
Ask my grandkids what Yeah Sure means........lol
I use Yahoo mostly because it is the only one for me that works well besides Trillian. MSN slowed me down so I ditched it.
Every system is different and so that is why it is hard to tell someone what one to use. For the most part you can try something and MOST of the time if you don't like it you can get rid of all of it not just some of it......
