how do you take off formatting in word? I don't want it to format my document.

I just use the word processor in MS Works at home and on my laptop here I only have Word Perfect.... when it comes to the stuff that sounds like work I don't know much about....my computer is for fun.....lol

Have you tried going under "Formatting" on the menu bar (5th one over) and hitting either "Reveal Formatting" or "Styles and Formatting" to make the changes you want, or to simply remove them. I would start with that as I'm not sure what your default currently is...
