Shouldn't be surprised, I'm sure, but I am.  My favorite e-mail is G-Mail, it's been totally problem free so far.  But for about a week out of the blue I'm getting lots of spam about viagra, cialis and other "offers" I don't want, every single day now.  I am wondering if when you report spam as spam, is it possible it backfires and gets reported just like it would if you wrote and asked them to not send you more of the same?  I do use Google but this problem is brand new, I've used Google for years for searches.  Just curious.  Now I'm just deleting things, not reporting spam.

Humm, that does seem strange I don't have a lot of spam with Gmail. And I have reported a couple things but I guess I have to say that I haven't gotten anything for a very long time that wasn't something I subscribed to....

I just went to look and I guess that around June there was a lot of people getting spam one person thinks it was because he used it when he got his You Tube account another thought it was when the gmail guys are tweaking the email filter..... whatever happened they said it went away just like it started and hadn't had any trouble since.

If it don't go away soon I would write to Google and ask them what is going on.....

It is nice being right-once in a while.

Interesting what just happened.  All the things that automatically were showing up in my "spam" area in G-mail I just delete, I have never reported them as spam in the past.  Tonight I did, for the first time.  Within MINUTES now there is the first spam showing up in my inbox, NOT in the spam inbox.  So now I think I was on to something - if you report it as spam instead of just deleting it, it generates a new message that will end up as a regular e-mail.  I created a monster, darn.  Interesting to see if more show up now, too.  I'm pretty sure they're all just computer generated from one place, same topic, and no, I don't need viagra or oxycodone!!!

I was just reading somewhere a few days ago that if you opt to create a new e-mail address to attempt to put an end to lots of spam or whatever, it's all changed now.  It's been possible for "them" to just use a computer dictionary or whatever for years and it will search for anything remotely like an actual word when generating mass spam.  And lots of folks chose to just reverse all the letters in their address to try to end it.  Well, now they have a REVERSE dictionary that will also peg all of THOSE.  If it spells anything real in any direction - even in the middle, they will now find you.  Guess they should be so proud, people actually get paid to set up that stuff?  What's next, if it contains any actual letter we're sunk?  How about learning Chinese?  Ya think it'll find those, too?
