Mookie, you said:  "Lastly, at the end of the day, even if this guy did make a goofy gesture with a cardboard sign, he's still part of a team of folks that think she' d' make a fine Secretary of State ".

Right that's my take on it.  Of course it was stupid.  But she's been given the Secretary of State job - no small deal.  She's not going to state publicly that Obama's head speech writer is a sexist dunderhead.  And good fllow up - that the State Department is now scrutinizing his resume.  This was his loss not hers.

Call me strange here, but I actually think Oprah looks *better* heavier. Have you seen the picture (before and after) of her on her latest issue, she looks so much prettier to me in her after (post weight gain). I don't know, no one should be morbidly obese but I've known women who work out and eat normally and are just bigger than average, that's just them and they seem to be in perfect health. I've also noticed that women that are older and are fitness obsessed actually look older to me. A certain amount of *plump* makes one look more youthful if you ask me whereas model thin past a certain age ages women. I suppose at the end of the day, it's all a matter of how you feel about yourself but those are my thoughts.

Funny you should write this, I saw a picture of Oprah the other day and thought to myself how pretty she looked. I didn't even notice a weight gain.

Exactly. Remember when she went on that weird diet and there's that picture of her where she's wearing jeans unveiling herself at one of her shows? She just looks weeeiird to me there, not better. I almost think that there's a weight that an individual person has their own ideal. For myself, I've seen pictures of myself when I had lost a lot of weight (due to being sick etc.) and as much as I liked the weight I was at on paper, it just didn't look right.

Mookie, you said about Oprah:  " Remember when she went on that weird diet and there's that picture of her where she's wearing jeans unveiling herself at one of her shows? She just looks weeeiird to me there, not better."

Yeah, but I think I read that she now says that she's at 200 lb.  I don't know how tall she is, but that can't be a healthy weight.  If she looks good now, don't you think that that's a result of having a whole staff probably working on her appearance?  I don't have a staff, and I don't want to even think about what I would look like at 200 lb.
