I thought it might be fun for those of us who vote today to report in as they do.  I just read on another board of someone who went to vote and found a line wrapped around the building and down the block.  She can return later this morning.

I have to vote before work so I'm now planning on indulging in a starbucks and heading to my polling place VERY early.

So, how was it where you live?

one of my online friends from NY went to vote this am (just after 6) and their computers were down.   She's going to go back around 4.   She didn't tell me how many people were there.

I ride by my polling place on my way to work and will let you all know when I get to work.  I already voted.   My county has about 4 polling places.   Small town :-D

My DD(18yo and first election) and I arrived at our polling location at 6:45AM, doors opened at 7:00AM, we were #111 and 112 to vote. There were probably another 75-80 people behind us with a steady stream of cars pulling into the parking lot. We live in a fairly rural area of PA and this is the heaviest turn out I've ever seen.

My polling place is at the local Elementary School.  We back up to a 'Green Belt', and I can walk out my back gate, cross a small bridge,  and be inside the building in 3 minutes.  It is a pretty big precinct, but I know a lot of people have already voted.  There were about 12 machines, and I walked in, handed my DL and signed the book, got an 'access code', and there were about 7 of the machines empty and  available to choose from.  From 'out' the back gate to back 'in' took less than 10 minutes.

Had new machines this time, with a selection 'wheel' that could actually go to an alphabet list to select a write-in candidate.  Fortunately, NO darn State or Local questions on the ballot this time.  In this heavily Republican area, virtually all of the judges and school board candidates were running unopposed - which I find personally distressing from a 'democracy' viewpoint.
