In the summer of 2005, I got the chance to meet people behind the scenes on Today, as we went down there early to be in the front row for the show. Ann was the friendliest person there. Matt, Al (Katie wasn't there that day), never bothered coming to the crowd, but she came to us and talked to the point they had to get her away because it was time to be ready for the next segment. The one guy behind the scenes, he worked with the cameras and sound, said that she was the most "real" of the group, with Matt coming in second. Didn't have a lot of favorable things to say about Katie. I wonder if Ann feels the need to "prove" herself now that they have replaced Katie with Meredith (whom I'm not crazy about in that position). I, too, have changed channels. I can only say that my personal experience with Ann was a very good experience. This person we were talking to said that they often had to get her away from the people as that is where she likes to stay.
