Although I have always voted republican ballots, I have tried to keep an open mind as Obama has been voted our president.  I think a black man being in the oval office is a good thing.  I have been right on board until in the end of the benediction yesterday where the "whites" were told to "get it right"...I'm sorry if that's not a Racist comment by a black man about white people I don't know what is....  I have not heard one thing on the news about this comment by a Reverand & equal rights activist?!  Of coarse, so much news media, especially the TODAY Show, which never can look objectively at anything invovling Obama since they are SO PAINFULLY IN HIS CORNER ON ANYTHING HE DOES!  Just because he was the right person for the office at the right time doesn't excuse him from being looked at OBJECTIVELY.  Waiting for news media to finally be objective...TODAY Show has lost my respect this election year.

He wasn't telling whites to get it right -- he was saying that whites get it right. (The difference between "Whites, get it right" and "Whites get it right".) It was one of several humorous slogans about different races, and none of them were racist. Did you actually hear the whole thing, or did someone just tell you about it? If you had seen it in context, you would realize that you're misinterpreting it. The reason you haven't heard an uproar about it is that there was nothing to be offended by.

Actually, I wasn't the only one offended.  I watched the entire speech, did you?  Don't assume you know anything...you know the HUMOROUS little ditty about ASSUMING things...

That saying came from the civil rights era. Obviously whites were not getting it right back then. Should "yellow" people be mad that he told them to mellow out as well? They are sayings that meant something to people awhile ago. Its not something to be offended by.

To be perfectly honest, YOU personally weren't offended..that's good for you!  I think the speech would have been sufficient without even putting that ending on his speech.  We have a black president and we are past it...why bother looking back & commenting.  It reflects ill will.  Period.  Obviously, if someone has to point out and using words like what we "SHOULD" be doing it's casting judgement on someone.  And it's my opinion you are wrong.
