Thank you so much for that, SJ. I did need to hear that. And you're right. I won't always feel this way. These times won't last forever. My girls will eventually grow up and become more independent. I try more often than not to enjoy these times. It does get tough (as today was), but I will get through them. In getting through the tough times, I want to make sure that I don't take for granted the good times. I do love seeing my kids smile and me. It brightens my day. :o) This phase of life is just something that I have to keep sticking through. Thank you for the hugs!!!

THOUGHTS: I ate good today. Even though it was a rest day, I wanted to make sure I got enough calories in me for tomorrow morning's workout. I here it's a difficult workout (haven't tried it yet) so I need to have the energy to "bring it" as he says lol.
I'm feeling better from this afternoon. Tomorrow is a new day. I still ate healthy and stayed on plan and did not allow my emotions to make me do something that I would have regretted in the morning. For that, I'm extremely proud of myself.

So for my current meal plan, I went to The Honey Baked Ham store and purchased some smoked honey baked turkey breasts. Each slice is only 40 calories so I incorporated those into my meal plan. I wanted this particular meal plan to be high in protein, so for a snack I'm also eating boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce.
I started this on Tuesday (yesterday). When I woke up this morning, I noticed that my legs looked a little bigger. I pressed on my shins and noticed that I had a bit of water retention. Hmmmm.......so I decided to look at the sodium content of my current meal plan and WHOOOOA!!! Just from the shrimp and turkey breast alone, I'm at 2,389mg daily!!! That's close to the MAX sodium intake for a 2,000 calorie diet. I should be around 1,800mg per day. I know without a shadow of a doubt that this will affect my weigh in on Friday. I'm going to try and combat the water retention by drinking more water, but I have all this shrimp and turkey breasts that has to get eaten over the next 3 days (which runs into my Friday weigh in) and I'm not about to toss it! It's too good! LOL!
So to minimize my disappointment, I am acknowledging ahead of time that I will probably be up on the scale due to retaining water from high sodium intake. Eh......it happens. I know the cause, I won't let it get me down. I proababy won't be buying the turkey breasts for my daily meal plans in the future! Those will have to be reserved for holidays or something! The calories are low (40 cals per slice) but MAN is the sodium high!
When I weigh in on Friday, I will make sure to read this post before and after! LOL!

THOUGHTS: My workout today was good and tough. I wanted to hit the 500 calorie burn mark, but I got close enough. Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day but I think I'm going to add another cardio workout tomorrow and hit the treadmill. Last chance workout before my weigh in (I feel like I'm putting my own self through the biggest loser LOL!). So I'll probably do 2.4 miles on the treadmill. I'm still definitely carrying some water weight in my legs. Could be due to my sickness too. Still not 100%. But I keep pushing through it. I definitely feel a bit bloated. If I had to rate this day, I'd say it was a good day as far as exercise and staying on plan (minus the excess sodium).

Your quote touched me... Hope you don't mind my "stealing" it and putting it around my place for a while! Thanks for sharing, Cg
