Please help me! I am 5' 5", 19 years old, and have always been at what my doctor has said was my ideal weight - 128. Within the last few months, changes have occured at my house, including my parents divorcing and my assuming parental responsibilities for my little brother.
I became obsessed with food as a control, and began eating less than 1200 calories a day. I also started running more - an hour a day at first, and now I exercise for 2 hours daily, plus play soccer and take long walks. I am TERRIFIED that my metabolism has slowed down from not eating enough, and am afraid that if I eat the recommended amount of calories, I am going to gain weight rapidly (I am down to 117 pounds now).
I am also training for a marathon, and know that I will not be able to perform if I do not change my dietary habits. I have been diagnosed with an eating disorder, which is linked to depression...I need help URGENTLY. PLEASE - I need feedback! I know that I am killing myself but need support.
