I have been on Atkins since Sept 2, and have lost about 13 pounds.  I have 15 more to go. Anyway I just found a low carb bread (1 point per slice) from Julians Bakery and it is wonderful! I also just tried Dreamfields pasta products (5 carbs per serv. ) also great tasting.  Has anyone else tried these  low carb products?

Welcome, and congrats on your 13-pound loss...that's terrific!

I have tried the Dreamfields...as I recall, it tasted great and totally real, but I can't remember if it caused any weight-loss problems for me (people's bodies differ in terms of how well they "ignore" the Dreamfields the way the Dreamfield's people claim happens).

I've never heard of Julian's Bakery, so I've never tried their bread. However, I have tried low-carb breads and bagels before and sometimes had real problems with them. The famous brand-name packaged stuff caused less of a problem (as I remember), but I remember having some bagels that were supposed to be very low in carbs (forgot the exact number it claimed) that *totally* sabotaged my ketosis. In general, I found that, for me, low-carb breads tended to slow or stall my weight loss. Low-carb tortilla wraps, on the other hand, worked fine in moderation.

If you started on Atkins on Sept. 2, then you're only a week and a half past Induction, so I'd proceed slowly into the low-carb specialty foods. Right now, I'd focus more on using your slightly increased carb allowance to have more veggies and enjoy adding in some nuts and seeds. If you're finding that the bread and pasta aren't causing any problems for you, then enjoy them, but I'd suggest making it more of an occasional treat, rather than an every-day thing. Just my $.02!

Now that you've found our board, I hope to see more posts from you :)

Thanks for the reply Laura.  You are right about moderation. I hope down the line I don't find out that the carb points are erroneous on these products. I tell you, they are both wonderful tasting and satisfying. However,  when it sounds too good to be true... well  you know the rest.  Wish me luck.
