I went to my first one this week. I found it interesting. I sure hope the science behind it is valid. Because I am on insulin I am trying the high protein version. I was going out with my friends this morning for breakfast so I had the snack with my insulin and then the meal when I should have had the snack. The leader thinks I need to eat more to get my metabolism moving again. The idea of eating 2000 calories is daunting!

I've been trying to tell you this for years....but I am only your Sin Twister.  I do agree that you should be on the high protein version of the diet.  A lot of what they said I agree with and I kept their food diary for a long time.  It was enlighening on how I set myself up for failure.

Remember you are in the for the long haul and so if you fall off for one day, it is only for one day, so you jump right back on for the next day.  No guilt, no beating yourself up.

Get the current edition of Diane Magazine.  Their research department has moved into one of the better research departments in Texas (I can't remember the name right now).

gentle hugs

My Curves didn't get the latest version of the Diane Magazine. I should or could say they were too cheap to pay for it but perhaps I shouldn't say that, even if it is true!! So if you have it, please save it for me. Their research is done at Baylor University.

I have trying to follow it all weekend and I am having a hard time keeping my blood sugar up. I have been really hungry which surprised me.

On the Curves websote they only post one article from the current edition of the Diane magazine.

Mary Frances, is your club using the new diet book? We are waiting to receive ours and the next class starts in a couple of wks. I also followed the high protein version and never met the protein quota. I wasn't starving myself or skipping meals - just couldn't reach the daily limit. It takes a lot of protein to reach the limit. As long as you keep a food diary and keep track of your totals throughout the day you can eat whenever you want or need too. I was doing 3 meals and 2-3 snacks. Other girls preferred having 5 or 6 small meals. So definitely adjust it to suit your needs.

Jen,

Yes, we are using the new diet plan. I also don't eat that much protein but I am trying. I am also trying not to get into anything that I am not supposed to which can be hard at work. The amount of carbs is pretty close to my diabetic meal plan especially if I don't eat the snacks and put them with my meals.

I did eat the snack on Friday morning because I wanted to go out and have breakfast with my friends. So I had the snack with my meds and then had breakfast a couple of hours later with my friends. That worked pretty well.

I should get weighed on Wednesday to see how this is going.

The leader wanted me to eat the week four meals which I did for a couple of days and then I switched to level one. It really isn't too hard to follow especially when you are very accustomed to carb counting and meal exchanges.
