I am new to this... got the book from the library to check it out and I am sold after reading the 1st chapter... I am 245 some odd pounds at the moment... Today is my 45th Birthday and I feel like I am way older than that cause, I have headaches all the time, my back hurts, low energy, lathargic, trouble concentrating and remembering things, depressed all the time and very unfit lady here.... I need all the help I can get so I am reaching out...It is crucial that I change my life now.... I just feel so all alone and need help.... I cannot go on this way any longer... I plan to begin this new way of eating this Saturday... I am nervous on how I should begin... I am used to drinking at least 4 to 6 cups of coffee each morning...and I just know that if I dont keep this simple I am going to mess it up... so I am reaching out here... if anyone has some advice for this Newbie on how I should begin I would really appreciate it very much...

Hello and welcome!
The best advice I can give you is this:
1) start a pre-flush while you're reading about the plan (page 43, I believe) because gradually reducing coffee, sugar, etc., will usually result in fewer nasty detox symptoms.
2) don't try to be perfect. none of us were and we did just fine. Do the best you can.
3) PLAN AHEAD PLAN AHEAD PLAN AHEAD. I firmly believe that many of became obese (I used to weight 233) because we stopped cooking and defaulted to take out, frozen dinners, fast food, etc. Look over the recipes, make a meal plan and PLAN AHEAD.
4) speaking of meal plans, those listed in the book for Phase 1 (often referred to around here as P1), are one example. As long as you stick to the food protocols for P1, you do NOT need to do the meal plans as written.
5) check out the Friends of FF website (there's a link in my signature line) for lots of great tips and hints along with more great recipes.
6) when you feel all alone, hang out here with us. The only stupid question is the one that didn't get asked.
7) Linda (my co-cl here) and I are getting ready to start P1 for a fall detox (we do it every quarter, more or less) and so you'll have company.
HTH!

I feel so awful today because last night I had a few glasses of wine and a lot of very Choclate cake... today I am paying for it I have had a headache all day... I look forward to better days and feeling better... gonna buy everything I need for theis plan on Friday and start Sat... till then I will cut out the sweets and cut down on the caffiene
