I posted this in another forum. I'm feeling so embarrassed and am worried about how this is going to effect me. I have depression and am a sensitive person as well. How can I get my mind back on track from this?!:

Well, I guess I've finally reached rock-bottom.

I went into a department store today to get some of the deals on clothes after Christmas. When I checked out, the girl at the counter asked me the worst possible question you can ask someone; especially a woman. She asked if I was having a baby. In a state of shock, I answered "NO". The rest of the time I spent silent, trying to figure out the best possible escape route.

The worst part is I'm only 20. In the past year, I've had a lot going on. I've gained about 25 lbs.

Guess I'm a lot worse off than I though I was.

Peace and above all, Love,

~Miss Shawna of California~

Bellydancin' my way to 10 pounds lighter! (and a 6-pack...)

Aww Shawna, I know it doesn't help much but you certainly aren't alone here. I think it's happened to so many of us. Start your plan of action today. If you need help, we have many support boards, such as our Losing Weight board where there are many others who'll be very happy to help you get started.

What an embarrassing situation to have to endure. Unfortunately, such things occur all too often. For many folks who struggle with weight, the experience of shame leads to self-defeating behavior instead of healthy steps toward successful weight management. Try not to let that happen to you!
