Okay ladies, I'm sharing so I have to do it! I will be turning 40 in March, and wouldn't you know it, there is a race for an organization that I volunteer for, ON my birthday!

So I decided to try to train for the 10 K race. I know I'm barely scraping by on the 5K, but I've got 4 months to get going so I figure it's doable.

It's a St. Patricks day race for the local youth emergency shelter, so I like volunteering or running in that race anyways, and I figure I need to set the bar high for myself to drag myself out of my comfort zone. And what a great way to start my 40's!!

So if anyone else is up for some training I'd love to have an online training partner - whatever your distance!

VERY cool Miranda! I'm so proud of you for getting through your 5K and now you're going to be training for a 10K - AWESOME! I had a couple of setbacks and wasn't able to do my proposed 5K on November 1st as I had expected. My training is going slower - I just can't get seem to get past that 20 min straight run in the Couch to 5K plan - I may skip on to the next planned running segment... Tomorrow I plan to resume the C25K training though and I need to look for another 5K to train for - although in the winter it may hard to find one in the DC area...

ha ha ha

no.

But I really should. I'm going to do the resolution run January 1st which is an outdoor race, so I better see if I can actually run in the winter or if my lungs just freeze up. :-)

Winter air hurts me!   I usually cover my mouth and nose with a scarf.  My biggest problem is finding daylight hours to get outside.
