Im 5'3 and about 135lbs....and i would really like to get in better shape but I have a really hard time controlling my hunger.  I have considered taking diet pills that help supress that, but Im only 20 years old and im worried it might ruin my metabolism for later on in life.   I go to the gym frequently, but my eating habits are making it hard to loose a little weight at tone up.  I am contantly hungry and even after I have eaten big meals I feel like I havent eaten anything as little as 20 minutes later.  Ive tried eating things high in fiber so would feel fuller for longer...but that didnt really do anything except make me go to the bathroom twice as much :/

Is there something I could take that would help with this and not have to worry about whether it is damaging to me in the long run or not.  I heard about slimquick....has anyone tried that?  What is something that works? good?

Unfortunately, no.  No pill is going to help, and nothing you can take is without side effects.  I was like you for the longest time - it was really, really hard when I first started making the effort to exercise and eat right and eat less.  After a few months of discipline though, I find now that I'm no longer constantly hungry, and in fact can't eat a huge meal because I get full part way through.

The only thing that works in the long run is to determine how many calories per day your body requires to maintain your current weight, then through diet, exercise, or preferably a combination of the two, make sure you're eating less than you need to maintain, and increase your metabolism and burn calories through exercise.  And don't forget to drink enough water - that will flush out any "false fat" (or water retention), and helps the metabolic process, and sometimes will help you feel less hungry as well.
