HPV vaccine girls are 'sex cautious'

no, it didnt make me rethink my views. I already think sex is a weighty isssue and not something to be done with just anyone. My daughter is 19, not sexually active (by her choice) as she intends to wait for the right man. Not marriage, but the right man, whomever she decides that is. Right now she is in college full time, and working, and just moved back home to save money to take classes year round. Her father doesnt need a stick to beat off the boys, she carries her own stick. LOL
She is going to get the vaccine in the very near future. we just switched from one insurance plan to another and the new one will cover the shot after 30 days. Our theory isnt that the shot makes girls more sexually active, its not permission to sleep around, as it doesnt prevent all std's. We were operating under the assumption that even if she ever only has one partner, what if that one partner is a carrier of hpv? Girls who only sleep with their husbands are still at risk to get hpv, so its not something that should encourage promiscuity anyway. I am glad that this shot may be getting other girls to think about sex a little more maturely, but I am happy to say that my daughter is very aware of the responsibilities that come with being sexually active. I dont understand the parents who refuse the shot on the grounds that it will make them sleep around. If they havent taught their children about personal values by that age, they shouldn't blame a shot for how their children behave.
