LA Weight Loss

hey, all. not trying to stir up hysteria or anything. just wondered how you feel about this flu bug that's going around. do you know people who've caught it? is it going through your area?

i wasn't worried about it, but increasing news reports about it have really got me thinking . . . i have my ob checkup on tuesday and am going to ask about getting the regular vaccine and see when the h1n1 vaccine will be available. being pregnant and expecting a newborn in flu season definitely has me a bit concerned.

recent confirmed cases in our county are increasing and i work at a university . . . . just feel like my opportunities to be exposed are really high! also, found out that the granddaughter of a co-worker has it. she had to leave work early yesterday to take her to the doc. and the girl tested positive for h1n1. the granddaughter lives with her, so maybe my co-worker was already carrying the virus. day before yesterday i sat right next to her at her desk for about an hour and even typed on her keyboard . . . . i'm worried i may already be incubating the virus. ugghhhh. well, all i can do is wait and see.

Personally, I'm not nervous about it. From what I understand, many people have had it...and been fine. Those who die from it are already infirm to begin with. I'm not infirm, and I probably don't get a ton of exposure. And I'm hygienic. And if I get it, I get it. I can't worry too much about it.

Now, if I had a baby or an infirm parent or something, I'd probably be more thoughtful/concerned about it! Glad you'll be looking into the vaccines and such!

I got a flu shot last year, and I probably will this year. But just a basic one, whatever one I get for free from the grocery store clinic!

I'm no longer worried because I believe I'm just getting over it. I was at a large family gathering two weeks ago where one of my nephews arrived from Texas with his three children and they were all sick with flu like symptoms. Days later more than 25+ of us had flu like symptoms. One of my cousins went to the clinic and was told it was most likely swine flu but no tests were done.

I've had the flu before and this was very much like my other boughts with the flu except some of us had vomiting and diarrhea with it. It was absolutely amazing to all of us how many of us got it.  Ugg-it was not fun.
