Hi everyone - I've been lurking for a bit, but thought I would take the plunge and post!  This is my first time on SB and I'm on day four of P1, and feeling horrible. I'm hoping this part passes soon! Are there any tips to make it a bit easier?! And the other thing I wanted to ask was, am I ok to work out as usual during P1? I've been following my usual gym sessions, but feeling pretty nauseous, so just wanted to check. (I think I'm struggling with the lack of carbs.) Thank you in advance for any advice!

J.

Hi,

Welcome.  I'm glad you're joining us.  It's normal to feel tired, sluggish and headachy on Phase 1.  The good news is that you're probably over them hump after today.  It should start getting better after day 4.  Stay hydrated and advil or tylenol should help.  Also be sure that you're including your dairy servings and beans.  The naturally ocurring carbs in these foods help.

Exercise is up to you.  I'm an avid exerciser but was unable to workout during phase 1.  I picked right up with my routine when I started phase 2.  However, lots of members are able to keep up with their typical routine during phase 1.  It's totally up to you and how your body feels.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you're feeling.

Welcome! It's normal to feel pretty cruddy during phase 1, especially during the first week. Your body is going through a "detox" right now. You will feel better very soon, though.
Just make sure you drink plenty of water and eat enough. Keep plenty of legal snacks on hand. Regarding exercise, let your body be your guide.
Many people don't feel like exercising during phase 1.

I'm glad you introduced yourself. Keep us posted on your progress.
