I picked the new SBD book today - Supercharged and saw that there was a fitness program included. Got the basic idea of interval training, but haven't read it yet. I wonder if anyone has tried introducing it into their routine? Thanks!

By the time the Supercharged book came out, I had already been following SBD for about a year.  I thought their workouts seemed to be geared towards people who were really starting from nothing fitness-wise, although I never tried them.

I've also never tried them but it could be a good place to start.

Interval training has been shown to reduce bodyfat FAR more effectively than steady state cardio.

When I read the book, I tried to figure out how to add this into my exercise.  However, my exercise of choice is Jazzercise and I have been doing that for 10 years now.  I have never been able to stick to any other form of exercise.  I finally figured out how to do Jazzercise in an interval style.  I do the the first three routines high impact, then I alternate the rest of the the routines low impact, then high impact.  I wear my heart rate monitor and it really does work.  I have added some strength work (upper body, lower body, core strength) at home with the Wii "My Fitness Coach".

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get those last five pounds off.  The change to interval did it and it didn't take all that long.  There is definitely something to it.
