Hard to say because jean size doesn't reflect the problems I have finding jeans that will go over my thighs but still close around my waist without gapping (which means I can't wear the currently trendy skinny jeans). Right now I'm a 12 but not a perfect 12 --- wasit sags, but sags, thighs and calves are OK, length is too long..
I think an 8 would be great for me. I am smallish in stature. Once upon a time I was usually a 6. That will never happen again after four kids. I'm not sure if my wonderfully round hips would fit into an 8 anymore either, but I'll let you know once I've lost a few pounds. :o)
