I hadn't heard of Zumba until last week when I stumbled across it on craigslist looking for weights for my BIL. Then I talked to a fellow Army wife at a meeting who loves it and I told her I'd meet her at Monday's class (last night). It was a lot of fun and I plan on going twice a week now to add something different to my workouts.
Zumba is an aerobic dance workout with a high energy instructor who plays Latin music. The teacher who leads our class is an Army Wife who moved here and found there weren't any instructors in the area. She had been doing it for less than a year (as a student) and she lost 100 pounds in 11 months so she wanted to continue. She became a Zumba certified instructor and she teaches 4 classes per day, 6 days per week. The great thing for me is that the 2 classes she has on the Army Base (at the gym) are FREE. Otherwise the classes are a couple of dollars each.
If anyone wants to look more into it you can go to www.zumba.com and see if there is a class near you.
