Can I walk off the lower belly "pooch"? All of a sudden, or so it seems, at 46 I have the lower belly pooch! I vowed in my 30's that I would NEVER have that. I've always been in pretty good shape. A few years ago, I managed to gain an extra 20 lbs while ending an unhappy marriage. I have been walking for several months and feel like my legs are getting stronger but it seems that my "pooch" is getting more noticeable.

I've heard and read it over and over again how spot training won't loose the belly fat or the "pooch" fat. Can I loose it by sticking to my walking regimen and watching my diet? Is there anyone out there that has had success in this?

Hi there! Walking will help reduce this but I would also try maybe some pilates or spot training to strengthen the muscles underneath while you burn the fat through cardio.. If it's loose skin(and not fat) then there isn't much you can do for that(which is my issue after having 5 kiddos)..
