something interesting...

You can burn calories quicker just by staying off the beaten path.  Walking along a rough but level track( like a sandy beach or wooded hiking trail) requires a whopping 50 percent more energy than walking on a paved road.

When I go to the beaches or regional trails, I can walk the regular walk or the brisk walk at those places.
