When you eat out, do you take a calorie counter with you? Do you count calories or do you sorta just estimate? Do you even bother or do you watch what you eat in some other fashion--if so, please share.

Oh my goodness nope. I just portion my meals and drink water to fill me up.

Been doing this for almost 2 years and I am ok with it.

When I go out to eat, I eat anything I want. I don't eat out that often, though. We just can't afford it. I do watch what I cook around here though, because my husband and oldest daughter tend to puff out a little if we eat the wrong food.

My hubby lost 75 lbs 2 years ago and has kept it off with exercise and moderation in his diet.

Bravo for your husband on losing the weight!!

I do that too portioning and my workouts. We eat out only on road trips which is once a year during summer.

I told my neighbor about portioning, but she cannot do it. She loves to eat and will eat. Last Oct she was like me in the overweight range her being 150. She started the walks and some calorie counting and lost 5. She just walks treadmill and now stopped the calorie counting. I told her about portioning, but she cannot handle it.
She is stuck and during the summer she attended parties and dinners, and ate. She gained back 3 pounds. She seems happy with where she is though.  Oh well.

I think if she was really determined like I am, she could get down to 130ish.

Portioning seems to be a thing many people today cannot control.

For me personally, I do not like that feeling of being completely stuffed or full after I eat. I like to feel satisfied, but not unable to move. KWIM?

For my husband, he would eat and eat until he couldn't move. If he had the slightest hunger pain, he would stuff himself. He is learning to control that.
