My mom has a heart problem. Both baking powder and baking soda are on the "NO" list. What else can she use for substitutions?

I'm on a restricted salt diet too and I've found a good, sodium free, baking powder - Featherweight brand - and I've had good results with it.  I have not found anything to replace baking soda, so I'll be watching for Sue's answer too!
