When you bake, do you bake healthier recipes; or just do it occasionally and treat yourself to the goodies you've always loved? Or maybe a bit of both?
I am a TERRIBLE baker --- nothing works for me except preboxed mixes. And since those are NOT healthy (I'm supposed to be avoiding carbs), I avoid baking even old favorites.
DH, on the other hand, is the baker in the family and does some great pies... he makes KILLER pumpkin adn apple pies!
I don't bake that often so just tend to make "normal" recipes, family favourite is a lemon cake (which has a lemony sugar syrup on the top!) -wonder if there is a healthier way to make that?
When I bake I try to be a bit healthier by substituting applesauce for oil. But I guess my biggest trick is to just not bake goodies too often and eat them in moderation.
I do that too! Well, both of those things, really. Mostly I bake if I'm taking it somewhere - that way we get a taste without having to eat the whole thing. ;o)
