Hi!  I'm buying a new house and replacing all of the carpets.  I can't afford to do all hardwood floors, plus, I have a young baby who crawls and plays on the floor and she needs something cushy to play on...right??  I want to avoid the "off gasses and toxic smells that linger when you get new carpet.  Anyway, I've found one carpet at Home Depot, it's marketed as their brand, it's called Puresque, and it's actually manufactured by Beaulieu.  The Puresque carpet contains organic sea salts and is made from recycled plastic bottles.  I know that Mohawk also has a line called SmartStrand, but I'm not sure if it will smell when installed.  Does any one have any ideas?  Thanks!

We have hard wood floors everywhere, and used some of the foam mats for the kids to crawl on when they were young.

I doubt any company would market a product that has a long term smell in the house.  But I haven't looked into flooring possibilities in years.
