I`d love some decorating advice. I am planning a "couples" bedroom after being solo for a number of years. He has a pine bedroom set which we will be using in Honey Pine. I own various quilts of burgandy, dark green and golds. I recently bought a brown brocade duvet cover with matching pillows. What colors do you suggest I paint the walls so I might change the bedding back and forth for a change. Any suggestions on sheets to punch up the room rather then all beige. I do own some very nice tab top drapes in creme, taupe, and off white colors.( 3 separate curtains sets) Thanks for your ideas!!

Welcome nbredhead64,

I am very happy for you that you will be a couple now and not have to sleep alone.

Well, all the colors in your quilts go really well with brown so you can pick any of those colors for your walls, except don't go with a dark green, go with a lighter green. Green is a very relaxing color too, but if you really want to punch up the room, what I would do is...... go with a burgundy wall behind your bed and get some burgundy sheets ;o) You can even add a few throw pillows in that color to your bed. LOL, I would go for the gusto and paint the whole room burgundy ;o) and use the taupe drapes and a few pillows in taupe plus burgundy. Just be aware if you do use burgundy paint you will need to prime the walls first and use at least 3 or 4 coats of paint, red is a hard color to paint over walls unless you use a good quality paint..... then you may get away with 2 good coats.

You didn't say how big the room is, how much light you get in it or what color your flooring is, so come back and let us know.

BTW, Domestications www.domestications.com have some very nice burgundy Egyptian cotton SATEEN sheet sets onsale at 400-thread count, which should be really soft and fabulous.
