I HAVE my clawfoot tub. That's the good news, LOL. My neighbor got the old one out in no time flat, and what we found on the other side of the tub was a huge space that had been filled with everything that had fallen, been pulled out, etc like a million farring strips, a piece of base board, all the plaster and dust they just shove in there. I cleaned up as well as I could while my dear neighbor went and PAID for me a piece of drywall so he could put it in before we put the tub there. so i cleaned the floor several times in the interim, and we brought the carpet in from the fron't porch where it had been snowed on, LOL and got it in place knowing the tub would hold it while I fininshed up the trim, etc. Since I already told you my carpet had snow on it, I guess you can figure out we had a cold snap. So that night when I went to bed, I shut off the rest of the house except for my bedroom and the bathroom. While I was asleep in total exhaustion, Stubby decided to decorate the bathroom on his own/ I had cut my carpet way wide to allow for the doorways, ect. and Stubby got ahold of it and ripped it about three feet.

So yesterday, I go to the hardware store dragging plumbing behind me to get the things I need to plumb my tub. A new guy was TRYING to help me, when this older man came up and opened up a claw foor tub plumbing kit, and continued to say, as I continued to tell him, "It should be right in your kit. This is the piece right here. That one you need is this" as I continued to saY, 'I don't have a kit, it has the original plumbing. I don't have a kit it has the original plumbing. I DON'T HAVE A KIT IT HAS THE ORIGINAL PLUMBING." Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

At this point he said, 'you mean the tub still has the original faucets and everything? Oh, you're gonna have to replace that and get yourself a kit."

I felt my upper lip curl back and my teeth enlongate, and foam form in my mouth until I looked like a hungry Doberman that only ate hardware store men. In a voice I didn't recognize, kinda sounded like a low, menacing growl, I told him, "it'll be over someones dead body before I remove 100 year old plumbing that works and buy a KIT (I think I screeched this last word, but I'm not sure, I kinda blanked out for a couple seconds and I think the second guy was pulling me off that guys throat when I came to)"

So anyway they sent me on my way with some kind of plumbing crap that I started to install yesterday and had the drain pipe down stairs break off in my hand. I also noticed about 500 shutoffs down there so I have no idea which is the main so I can put shut offs to my tub faucets. I glued the drainpipe back together but I have no idea if it's going to leak yet, I shall let you know tomorrow since I'm going to attempt to plumb some more today. c

You poor thing.  Next time let the landlord hire a plumber, grin.  Geez I hope its starts going better for you.

Did you not get an email from Pat about out boards closing?  Better check your email kiddo.
