Every now and then, I have a meeting at one of my client's sites that happens to be located next to The Triangle - where 45th, Lamar and Guadalupe converge. Whenever I'm there, I notice the bright red awning on Mandola's Market. So, one day, I went in.
First, let me warn you - walking on somewhat uneven brick paving is no fun in heels, lol!
Second, it's hard to resist the fresh breads and pastries flanking your path to the order counter.
You'll find Italian specialties, wonderful antipasti and fresh pasta on the menu for a fairly reasonable price. I had one of my all-time favorite dishes, Tagliarini with homemade Italian sausage, that I've not been able to find anywhere else outside of San Pedro, CA. Go figure! It was delicious. The gelato is also homemade.
Let's just cut to the chase - it's a must do on the restaurant list.
