On the south side of the Convention Center, you'll find an unusual site for a BBQ restaurant of some reputation. It is literally in an old iron works building, cooled by water dripped over the roof. It's amazingly comfortable inside on the hottest of days, and the BBQ is refreshingly NOT spicy, lol!
They will reserve tables for large parties (we had one for 10), otherwise it's a matter of finding a free spot. Family friendly. Roughly $10/pp, including beverage (sodas served in old-fashioned can be found in an open ice chest). The ribs are gigantic, be forewarned, lol!
Last Sunday, we were "invaded" by bloggers from the NetRoots convention (Al Gore made an appearance at the Center).
Parking is iffy, but there is an open lot directly across the street.
